Purple Pitcher Plant
Sarracenia purpurea
S. purpurea is the only Pitcher Plant native north of Maryland, with a territory extending as far north as Newfoundland. Its short pitchers draw in bugs, and its deep red flowers add interest to the early spring pond. This Pitcher Plant prefers mild summers and can withstand harsh winters.
